The All People’s Congress (APC) Secretary General, currently in detention, has formally delegated his authority to ensure the smooth running of the party’s administrative affairs.
In a letter addressed to Mr. Chernor CS Kamara, the APC Deputy National Organizing Secretary, the Secretary General stated that his current assignment would temporarily impede his ability to perform his duties as National Secretary General and Chief Administrative Officer of the party’s Secretariat, as outlined in Article 50 of the 2022 APC Constitution.
The letter reads in part that “during the pendency of my return and in a bid to enhance fluidity in the administrative machinery of the secretariat, you are hereby mandated to temporarily take over the reins and act as Chief Administrative Officer of the Secretariat.”
The delegation of authority is intended to maintain continuity in the secretariat’s operations while the Secretary General is unable to personally oversee administrative functions.
