Kambia Government Hospital has reportedly issued a statement regarding an incident that occurred at approximately 2:35 PM, On Friday, February 13, 2026, when two foreign nationals arrived at the hospital with a donation of several medical items.
Upon receiving the items, the hospital’s medical and administrative teams conducted a routine inspection as required by hospital policy and national health regulations.
During the inspection, it was discovered that the medical supplies being donated were expired and no longer suitable for use in healthcare settings.
In a statement, the hospital management emphasized their commitment to maintaining the highest health standards and protecting patients from potential harm.
“As a health institution committed to protecting the lives and well-being of the people of Kambia District, the hospital management immediately declined the items to ensure that no expired or unsafe medical products enter their facility or are administered to patients,” the report read.
The hospital asserted the dangers posed by expired medical supplies, noting that such products can lead to treatment failure, infections, and other serious health complications.
“The expired medical supplies pose serious health risks, including treatment failure, infections, and complications that could endanger lives. For this reason, the hospital strictly adheres to established medical guidelines before accepting any form of donation,” the statement continued.

“We are committed to maintaining transparency and accountability in all hospital operations, including the acceptance of donations. No expired items were accepted into hospital storage, and no patient was given any of the expired supplies,” the hospital assured.
