The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) has successfully concluded the FASAP-RAMP Onsite Training for Safety Inspectors, held from 9–13 February 2026 at the Freetown International Airport (FIA) Conference Room.
The intensive five-day programme aimed to strengthen the technical capacity of Safety Inspectors in ramp inspection procedures, aircraft ground safety oversight, and compliance with international aviation standards. Participants received updated knowledge, practical inspection techniques, and enhanced regulatory awareness to support effective monitoring of aircraft operations across Sierra Leone’s airspace.
The training concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, celebrating participants’ achievements and marking a significant milestone in SLCAA’s ongoing efforts to reinforce operational safety within the aviation sector.
“This programme underscores our commitment to promoting aviation safety and regulatory excellence,” said a senior SLCAA official. “By equipping our inspectors with modern skills and best practices, we ensure that Sierra Leone’s aviation industry meets international standards and safeguards the travelling public.”
The FASAP-RAMP initiative reflects SLCAA’s dedication to institutional capacity building, operational efficiency, and alignment with global aviation standards critical components for the continued growth and safety of Sierra Leone’s air transport sector.
