Kao Denero has criticized bloggers in Sierra Leone, accusing many of focusing on negativity and personal attacks rather than practicing responsible and creative blogging.

Speaking during a recent media engagement, the rapper expressed disappointment over what he described as a pattern of online criticism targeting his fashion choices and personal life. He said blogging should go beyond attacking individuals and spreading negativity.

Bloggers are mostly spending their time on bashing, attacking people, and spreading negativity. Blogging can be done in different ways, not only by bashing people every day. Criticizing people’s outfits, that is not blogging,” he said.

Kao Denero further stated that many bloggers lack creativity, which he believes is the reason they often resort to criticizing his outfits. He addressed claims that a local boutique owner is responsible for his fashion style, dismissing the suggestion as false.

I actually have a friend who owns a boutique, and bloggers think that he is my designer. They assume he is the one that dresses me, but I have never bought anything from that guy. I just came from the United States, I shop in the States,” he said.

Beyond the criticism of bloggers, the rapper also highlighted his contributions to Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry, particularly his role in supporting emerging artists. He noted that although some artists he helped later betrayed him, he remains committed to uplifting others in the industry.

I have put out so many artists who have breakthrough; even though I help some other artists who ended up betraying me, but I never relented,” he said.

Referencing the Red Flag Movement and the breakthrough of fellow artist LAJ, Kao Denero pointed to his involvement in the remix of the song “Money Na Bank” as part of his efforts to promote young talent.

Even the Red Flag Movement (RFM), LAJ’s breakthrough song, ‘Money Na Bank,’ I am all the remix. I contributed to LAJ’s breakthrough in Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry by opening doors for him, embracing him as one of us,” he stated.
