In response to the pressing needs of the Madam Yorko Memorial Trauma Centre in Taiama, Kori Chiefdom, Moyamba District, Councillor Ernest Ngenda Sama of Ward 346 has taken a proactive step by reaching out to the Honorable Deputy Minister 1 of the Ministry of Health.
The facility has been grappling with critical issues, including the absence of a water facility, insufficient lighting, and security concerns.
Councillor Sama’s humble request resulted in a symbolic visit to the Trauma Centre by the Honorable Deputy Minister 1, Prof. Dr. Charles Senesie, accompanied by Community Health Officer Philip Kulanda, on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
During the visit, Deputy Minister 1 acknowledged the gravity of the challenges faced by the Trauma Centre and assured the community of the Ministry of Health’s prompt intervention.

Recognizing the vital role the Trauma Centre plays in delivering essential healthcare services, he committed to allocating the necessary resources to address the issues, ensuring the facility becomes fully operational.
