The Community Relations Department in the Waterloo Division has engaged pupils of Rural Academy Primary and Secondary School in an awareness session aimed at promoting discipline and responsible behaviour.

The initiative, conducted with support from Bassa Town Police, comes as schools enter the second term and prepare for annual sporting events. Officers educated students on the dangers of drug abuse, sexual offences, disorderly conduct, and other behaviours that could lead to legal trouble.

Police emphasised making positive life choices, maintaining good conduct in and out of school, and behaving responsibly during sporting activities. The sensitisation forms part of the Sierra Leone Police’s wider outreach strategy to build law-abiding attitudes among young people.

Officials said the programme will continue across the country to prevent youth involvement in crime and promote safer communities.
