Sierra Leone male national team, headCoach Mohamed Kallon has announced a 26-man home-based squad for the upcoming FIFA Friendly Series scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan later this month.
According to a statement released by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), the selected players will begin training camp on Monday, 16 March 2026, as the technical team intensifies preparations ahead of the international fixtures.
The invitation primarily targets standout performers from the Sierra Leone Premier League and other domestic clubs, giving local talents the opportunity to compete for places in the national team setup.
Among the players called up are Alhaji Sesay, Francis Koroma, Mohamed Kamara, Abu Bakarr Samura, Ernest Koroma, Nathaniel Jalloh, Sallieu Tarawallie, Mohamed Kabba, Mohamed Sesay, and Adekallie Kamara. Several others from clubs including Bhantal FC, FC Kallon, Bo Rangers, Star Sport Academy, East End Lions, Old Edwardians, Ports Authority, Wilberforce Strikers, Mighty Blackpool, Abacha City, and Freetown City also made the list.
The squad also features Kwame Quee, Momoh Lapo Dumbuya, James Kanja Jusu, Santigie Fornah, Joseph Cleveland, Mohamed Buya Turay, Sanpha Kamara, Mohamadu Lamin, Hendovei Tucker, and James Kai Yamba.
The SLFA noted that all invited players are expected to report to camp on time and arrive fully prepared for intensive training sessions, as the coaching staff will use the period to evaluate form, fitness, and tactical discipline.
Coach Kallon’s move to assess home-based players sheds light on a broader effort to strengthen the domestic talent pipeline and ensure that local league performers have a pathway into the national team.
The FIFA Friendly Series in Azerbaijan is expected to provide the Leone Stars with crucial international exposure and preparation as the team continues to rebuild and compete on the continental stage.
