Players of Diamond Stars Football Club were allegedly attacked by traffic wardens and officers of the Operational Support Division (OSD) while returning from an away match.
According to initial accounts, the incident occurred during the team’s journey home, leading to a confrontation that reportedly left several players injured. Eyewitnesses said the situation escalated quickly, resulting in physical assault on members of the team.
It is further alleged that the team bus was seized during the incident. Players are also said to have lost personal belongings, including mobile phones, luggage, and other valuables, which remain unaccounted for at the time of filing this report.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the circumstances surrounding the incident. Meanwhile, concerns are growing among supporters and the wider public over the safety of athletes and the conduct of security personnel.
