Renowned Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records founder, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has arrived in Sierra Leone, marking his first-ever visit to the West African nation.
The music executive announced his arrival via an Instagram video, sharing his excitement with fans. He accompanied the post with a brief caption confirming the milestone: “First time in Freetown Sierra Leone.”
In the video, Don Jazzy can be seen taking in the local atmosphere, playfully remarking, “We are out here in Freetown where everything is Freetown.”
While celebrating his arrival, the Mavin Records boss expressed mild regret about making the trip without some of his top signed artists, specifically mentioning Rema, Johnny Drille, and Di’Ja. The mention of Di’Ja holds particular significance for the local fanbase, as the singer (born Hadiza Blell) is of Sierra Leonean descent.
“I don’t know why I am out here in Freetown without Johnny Drille, Rema and Dija,” Don Jazzy stated in the video.
However, he offered a promising update for Sierra Leonean fans hoping to see the Mavin stars perform live in the future. Suggesting that this initial trip is a scouting mission of sorts, he added: “But I am clearing the way. Maybe next time I will come with them.”
The visit has sparked excitement across social media platforms, with local fans and entertainment promoters welcoming the music mogul to the country and speculating on potential future collaborations or concerts featuring the Mavin Records roster.
