The Sierra Leone Football Association on Thursday, May 21, paid a solemn condolence visit to the family residence of the late former Sierra Queens Head Coach, Victoria Conteh, at Kroo Town Road as the football community continues to mourn one of Sierra Leone’s most respected female football figures.

Leading the delegation on behalf of SLFA President Babadi Kamara and the Executive Committee, Deputy General Secretary Ishmail Saidu Kanu conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Speaking during the visit, Ishmail Saidu Kanu described the late coach as a dedicated servant of the game whose immense contributions to women’s football in Sierra Leone would never be forgotten.

Prayers and words of comfort were offered to family members as the delegation reflected on the remarkable legacy left behind by Victoria Conteh, whose passion, discipline, and leadership inspired many young female footballers across the country.

As a symbol of solidarity and support during the difficult period, the Association also presented a token to the family, reaffirming the SLFA’s commitment to standing with members of the football community in moments of grief and remembrance.

The Sierra Leone Football Association further informed the football family and the general public that a laying-out ceremony in honour of the late Coach Victoria Conteh will be held tomorrow at the SLFA Secretariat from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.

The death of Victoria Conteh has continued to attract tributes from across the sporting community, with many remembering her dedication and impact on the growth of women’s football in Sierra Leone.
