Security personnel at the Mile 38 Checkpoint have arrested a man for the alleged possession of suspected narcotic substances and related paraphernalia.

The arrest was made on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, by the Officer Commanding of the checkpoint, Superintendent Foday Sorie Fofanah, and his team. The suspect, identified as Samuel Turay of Bah Drive, Waterloo, was apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation.

According to police reports, a search of the suspect led to the discovery of dried leaves suspected to be kush and cannabis sativa, as well as a weighing scale believed to have been used in connection with the substances.

Turay and the exhibits were taken into police custody as investigations continue.
