The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Farida Tunis, has joined tourism leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from across Africa at the 69th UN Tourism Regional Commission for Africa currently taking place in Seychelles.

The three-day conference, held under the theme “Strengthening Human Capital to Boost Africa’s Tourism Growth,” commenced on 2nd July and will run until 4th July 2026, bringing together key tourism stakeholders to discuss the future of the sector across the continent.

According to the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, the opening ceremony featured welcome addresses and insightful presentations emphasizing the importance of collaboration, capacity building, and investment in human capital as key drivers for the sustainable growth and competitiveness of Africa’s tourism industry.

The conference is expected to serve as an important platform for African nations to strengthen partnerships, exchange best practices, and develop strategies aimed at accelerating tourism development across the continent.
