SEND Sierra Leone has renovated Community Learning Centres (CLCs) in Bauya Community, Kombora Chiefdom in Moyamba District, and Jojioma Community, Malema Chiefdom in Kailahun District, providing safe and inclusive spaces for learning, counselling, dialogue, and community engagement.

The renovations were carried out under the Spotlight Initiative, funded by the European Union in Sierra Leone and implemented through UNFPA Sierra Leone. The upgraded centres are expected to serve as community hubs where out-of-school girls and residents can access learning opportunities, develop skills, and participate in community dialogue.

Community Learning Centres are designed to expand access to information and promote learning opportunities for women, girls, young people, and other community members. The initiative also supports efforts to prevent gender-based violence through awareness, education, counselling, and empowerment activities.

SEND Sierra Leone says the completion of the centres marks an important step in strengthening community resilience, with attention now shifting to ensuring effective management and utilisation of the facilities for sustained impact.
