The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has highlighted the participation of Marylin N. Dixon, an Electoral Officer in its Inclusion Department, who delivered Sierra Leone’s country presentation at the International Capacity Building Course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Elections held in New Delhi, India.

Representing the Commission on the global stage, Mrs Dixon presented Sierra Leone’s strategic vision for the responsible and inclusive use of Artificial Intelligence in election management.

She affirmed the Commission’s progress in leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to strengthen electoral processes, while emphasising the importance of maintaining human-centred safeguards, inclusivity, transparency, and public trust in the adoption of AI-driven innovations.

According to ECSL, Mrs Dixon also highlighted the opportunities AI presents in enhancing voter facilitation, improving electoral logistics, supporting data-driven decision-making, and modernising communication between Election Management Bodies and citizens.

Her presentation received commendation from fellow participants and facilitators, who praised her professionalism, insightful contributions, and strong representation of Sierra Leone and the ECSL.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional capacity, embracing innovation responsibly, and adopting global best practices to ensure credible, inclusive, transparent, and technology-driven elections in Sierra Leone.
