Waterloo Community and Grass Field Community played out a 1-1 draw in an entertaining Group B encounter of the ASSPA Inter-Community League 2026.
Waterloo got off to a promising start, taking the lead in the 26th minute courtesy of an own goal by Noah Kamara, which handed them an early advantage.
However, Grass Field responded with determination in the second half. Their persistence paid off in the 69th minute when Capay Sallieu rose highest to head home the equaliser, bringing his side level in a pulsating contest.
Both teams pushed for a winning goal in the closing stages, creating several scoring opportunities. But resolute defending and impressive goalkeeping at both ends ensured that neither side could find a breakthrough.
The result sees both teams earn a point each as they begin their Group B campaign, setting the stage for a competitive race to the knockout phase.
