Miss Sierra Leone Limited has announced that Mariyam Lorba Konneh has been officially appointed to represent the Republic of Sierra Leone at the 73rd Edition of Miss World Festival, culminating in the Grand Final in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 5 September 2026.
According to Miss Sierra Leone Limited, ‘’This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Miss World Franchise, a milestone underscoring the importance of every franchise nation’s participation. As the custodian of Sierra Leone’s Miss World franchise, Miss Sierra Leone Limited bears the responsibility of ensuring that our nation is represented at this historic global event.”
The decision follows a resolution of the Board of Miss Sierra Leone Limited after it became clear that the national Miss Sierra Leone competition could not be concluded in time to select and prepare a winner for this year’s international festival. In consultation with Miss World, the Board determined that Sierra Leone must not lose its place on the global stage. Representation is not only a matter of compliance with franchise obligations but also of national pride, visibility, and continuity. By appointing a delegate, Miss Sierra Leone Limited ensures that Sierra Leone’s voice, culture, and values remain part of the international Miss World dialogue.
