The Sierra Leone men’s national football team, the Leone Stars, have been ranked 122nd in the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings released on July 20, 2026.

While the team retained its position on the ranking, it dropped points to 1,147.56 from 1,148 points in June.

The ranking update follows the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Spain claimed the number one spot after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final.

Sierra Leone, currently managed by head coach Mohamed Kallon, had sat slightly higher at 120th in the world earlier in the year. The team’s historical peak ranking was 50th in August 2014, while its lowest was 172nd in September 2007.

In Africa, Morocco retained the top spot after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals. Senegal remained second, while Egypt moved to third following their Round of 16 appearance. Algeria completed the top five African nations.

Globally, newly crowned world champions Spain returned to the summit, followed by Argentina, France, England, and Brazil.
