ECSL Debunks Fake Recruitment Notice Circulating on Social Media
The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has debunked a recruitment notice dated 21 July 2026 circulating on social media, warning the public that the notice is fraudulent.
In a public statement, the Commission said it did not issue any such recruitment notice and described both the notice and the linked recruitment portal as “fake and fraudulent.”
The circulating notice claimed that ECSL was inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for 266 vacant positions within the Commission. It also directed applicants to submit applications through a linked online portal.
“The Commission wishes to inform the public that it has not issued any such recruitment notice and considers the aforementioned recruitment notice and recruitment portal to be fake and fraudulent,” ECSL stated.
The Commission urged members of the public to disregard the notice and remain vigilant against potential scams.
ECSL further clarified that all official announcements are made through its website and verified social media platforms, particularly when timelines for electoral activities are established.
“The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone is committed to ensuring the integrity of its electoral processes,” the statement concluded, adding that the public is informed and guided accordingly.
