Sierra Leone Parliament Issues Urgent Notice to Newly Appointed Presidential Nominees

The Parliament of Sierra Leone has called on recently appointed presidential nominees to promptly collect, complete and return their interview forms as preparations intensify for their confirmation hearings.

In a public notice dated 23 July 2026, the Office of the Clerk of Parliament urged all nominees appointed by President Julius Maada Bio to collect the required forms immediately and submit the completed documents no later than Monday, 27 July 2026.

According to Parliament, the exercise is intended to facilitate the work of the Committee on Appointments and the Public Service (CAPS), which is responsible for vetting presidential nominees before they are presented to the House for approval.

The Committee, chaired by the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Hon. Mathew Sahr Nyuma, will conduct the confirmation hearings and subsequently present its recommendations to the full Parliament for consideration and approval before the State Opening of Parliament.

The Office of the Clerk further directed all presidential nominees to collect their interview forms from the Director of Committees and Clerk to the Committee on Appointments and the Public Service, Julius Moriba Songa, at the Parliament Building, Tower Hill, Freetown.

Parliament emphasized the importance of timely compliance, noting that the prompt submission of the completed forms will ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the confirmation process for the newly appointed state officials.
