President Julius Maada Bio on Thursday, July 22nd 2026, welcomed members of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce at State House following its revival.

President Bio expressed excitement at welcoming the Chamber’s leadership to a meeting after its revival. He commended the Chamber for its renewed commitment to the private sector and for pledging support to the upcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit, WAIIS.

I welcomed the Chamber’s commitment to supporting the upcoming West Africa Integration and Investment Summit,” President Bio said.

President Bio also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to working closely with the business community.

I reaffirmed my government’s commitment to helping it strengthen collaboration between the private sector and government,” he added.

The Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce is expected to play a key role in mobilizing local businesses, promoting trade, and attracting investment ahead of WAIIS, which aims to deepen regional economic integration and investment across West Africa.
