The Regional Director for Plan International West and Central Africa (WACA), Alasan Senghore, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Hon. Chernor A. Bah, to reaffirm the long-standing partnership between Plan International and the Government of Sierra Leone.
He was accompanied by Evariste Sindayigaya, Sub-Regional Director for Sahel West Africa, and Muniratu Issifu, Country Director of Plan International Sierra Leone.
Minister Chernor Bah described Plan International as a global leader in development and one of Sierra Leone’s most trusted partners.
“Plan International has stood with Sierra Leone through every major phase of our journey, from difficult times to national transformation. Your unwavering commitment to our people has made you one of the country’s most consistent development partners,” he said.
Minister Bah further noted that his advocacy career began with Plan International, describing the organization as instrumental in shaping his leadership and commitment to public service. He reaffirmed both his personal dedication and the Ministry’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Plan International in advancing civic education, youth empowerment, public information, and citizen engagement.
Speaking on behalf of Plan International, Alasan Senghore reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting Sierra Leone’s development agenda and strengthening partnerships that create opportunities for children and young people across the country.
Speaking on behalf of Plan International, Evariste Sindayigaya praised the Ministry’s leadership and reflected on the quote displayed in the Minister’s office: “Another world is possible. She is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
Finally, he commended Minister Bah for his commitment to feminist leadership and inclusive governance, describing him as an activist voice within government who continues to champion the rights of women, girls and young people.
