Sierra Leone has joined efforts to promote inclusion and recognise the talents of persons with albinism, as stakeholders gathered to celebrate their creativity, culture, and contributions to society.
The celebration was organised by the Orange Foundation Sierra Leone in partnership with the Albinism Royal Foundation under the theme “Celebrating Culture, Embracing Diversity, Promoting Inclusion.”
The event brought together individuals and organisations to highlight the abilities of persons with albinism and encourage greater acceptance and equal participation in society.
Speaking at the exhibition, the Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs stressed that persons with albinism should be recognised for their skills, talents, and contributions rather than being judged by misconceptions about their condition.
She encouraged communities to embrace diversity and support inclusive practices that allow everyone to participate fully in social and economic development.
The Minister also praised the Orange Foundation Sierra Leone for supporting initiatives that promote cultural diversity, inclusion, and empowerment for persons with albinism.
She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with partners and stakeholders to strengthen equality, protect vulnerable groups, and promote a more inclusive Sierra Leone.
The event serves as a reminder that true inclusion begins with recognising the value, creativity, and potential of every individual.
