Former Sierra Leonean President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, according to reports from the Nigerian Presidency.
The meeting focused on issues relating to Dr Koroma’s ongoing legal matters, his temporary residency in Nigeria, and his recent visit to Sierra Leone as a guest of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
State House sources said the discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere and reflected continued engagement between the two leaders on matters of mutual concern. Dr Koroma has been residing in Nigeria under arrangements linked to ongoing judicial proceedings in Sierra Leone.
The visit followed Dr Koroma’s recent trip to Freetown, where he participated in activities connected to ECOWAS before returning to Nigeria.
Although no detailed official statement was released on the outcome of the meeting, the engagement reflects the longstanding diplomatic relations between Sierra Leone and Nigeria and the broader framework of regional cooperation within ECOWAS.
President Tinubu received the former Sierra Leonean leader at the Presidential Villa in Abuja as part of what was described as a courtesy call.
