Thousands of Sierra Leoneans from across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, and Sierra Leone gathered at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, for the annual Sierra Leone Family Fun Day, with officials of the Sierra Leone High Commission in London joining the celebrations.
The event, one of the largest annual gatherings of the Sierra Leonean diaspora in the UK, brought together families, friends, and community leaders to celebrate Sierra Leone’s culture, strengthen relationships, and promote unity among Sierra Leoneans living abroad.

Officials of the High Commission participated as part of their commitment to engaging the diaspora and supporting initiatives that foster national unity and community cohesion. Their presence was warmly welcomed by attendees.
The celebration featured traditional Sierra Leonean cuisine, music, swimming, amusement rides, and other recreational activities, while also providing opportunities for networking and cultural exchange.

Organisers thanked participants who travelled from across the UK, Europe, the United States, and Sierra Leone, reaffirming their commitment to preserving the annual Family Fun Day as a symbol of unity, friendship, and national pride for Sierra Leoneans worldwide.
