The National Revenue Authority (NRA), in collaboration with SICPA, has concluded a three-day Product Tracing System (PTS) workshop for excise taxpayers on August 7, 2026.
The workshop, held at the Dove’s Nest, Aberdeen, Freetown, brought together importers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, tobacco, cement, sugar, cooking oil, and fertilisers to enhance compliance and strengthen revenue mobilisation.
According to the General Manager for SICPA, Maxwell Massaquoi, the refresher session aimed at creating a platform for tax stamp discussions, including issues and challenges previously encountered by taxpayers. It was an interactive programme in which participants could ask questions and receive clarification.
In his presentation, the Manager of the Excise Office, Domestic Tax Department, NRA, Mustapha Fofana, sensitised taxpayers to changes in the 2026 Finance Act and outlined key features of the PTS. He gave a detailed explanation of the process of ordering and activation of the stamps. He highlighted the unique and security features of the stamps. He stressed the importance of marking all excisable products.

Providing technical expertise, Alhaji Amadu Kondeh, Service Centre Technician at SICPA, guided attendees through the practical and operational aspects of applying and managing tax stamps in day-to-day business routine.
The workshop underscores the NRA’s ongoing push to modernise tax administration, leverage technology against illicit trade, and maximize revenue collection across Sierra Leone’s commercial sector
