Leone Stars Head Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa has invited 27 home-based players to begin preparations for Sierra Leone’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) announced that the players will report for training on Monday, 17 August 2026, at the SLFA Technical Centre in Freetown.
The training camp forms part of the technical team’s preparations as Leone Stars work to build a competitive squad ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The invited players are drawn from several clubs in the domestic league, with Bo Rangers, East End Lions, Old Edwardians, Bai Bureh Warriors, Bhantal, FC Kallon, Wilberforce Strikers, Star Sport Academy and Ports Authority represented.

The training camp will provide the coaching staff with an opportunity to assess the players’ current form, fitness and tactical understanding as they work towards assembling a strong squad for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The inclusion of home-based players also gives the technical team an opportunity to identify and assess emerging domestic talent who could potentially earn places in the national team setup.
The SLFA has encouraged fans and football stakeholders to support Leone Stars as preparations begin for the next stage of the team’s quest for continental qualification.
