Mariyam Lorba Konneh, representing Sierra Leone at the 75th Anniversary Miss World pageant in Vietnam, has called on Sierra Leoneans at home and in the diaspora to unite in support as voting officially opens for the Miss World People’s Choice Award, Round One.
Konneh is carrying Sierra Leone’s flag and national pride on the global stage, with the public voting offering her an opportunity to secure a place among the Miss World Top Finalists.
Winning the Africa regional category in Round One will earn her a direct fast-track spot among the Miss World Top Finalists, potentially bringing Sierra Leone closer to making history at the prestigious pageant.

All points accumulated during Round One will carry forward into Round Two, making early and consistent public support important to maintaining Konneh’s momentum in the competition.
Voting for Round One closes at 10:00 p.m. on September 4, 2026 (UTC+7). Sierra Leoneans, friends of Sierra Leone and pageant enthusiasts around the world are encouraged to cast their free daily votes and support Konneh’s bid to top the Africa category.
The stakes are high, as the winner from each of the four continental regions will secure direct entry into the Miss World Top Finalists for the People’s Choice Award.
