Cricket Sierra Leone Secures $400,000 Five-Year Sponsorship Deal
Sahid Bangura Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) has signed a five-year partnership agreement worth US$400,000 with Kadat Group of Companies to support the development of the country’s senior cricket leagues and strengthen the sport’s domestic appeal.
The agreement was officially signed on Saturday at Kadat Group’s headquarters on Hennessey Street in Freetown. It is aimed at modernising senior cricket competitions, attracting more young players and increasing cricket’s popularity across Sierra Leone.
The deal was signed by CSL Board Chairman Francis Trevor Samura and General Manager Chrispin E. George, in the presence of board members and representatives of both organisations.
Under the partnership, the funding will support the organisation of the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Cricket Leagues, as well as the Senior Men’s Patriots and Senior Women’s Patriots. The agreement also includes a range of support intended to strengthen the teams and improve the overall standard of the competitions.
The partnership comes as the new CSL board begins its five-year tenure, with ambitions to expand the sport’s reach and establish cricket as one of Sierra Leone’s leading sports.
Meanwhile, preparations are advancing at the Kingtom Oval, where refurbishment work has reached a key stage following the grading of the outfield earlier this week. Vehicles parked along the eastern side of the oval have also been towed to clear the area ahead of the upcoming league season.
Cricket clubs are also making transfers and loan arrangements as preparations intensify for the competitions, with teams undertaking photoshoots ahead of the new season.
The five-year agreement with Kadat Group marks an important step in CSL’s efforts to strengthen corporate partnerships, improve league organisation and create greater opportunities for players in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
