President Julius Maada Bio has convened a virtual meeting with senior African business and financial leaders as preparations continue for the upcoming West African Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS).
The meeting brought together prominent figures in Africa’s financial and business sectors, including the Chief Executive Officers of Afreximbank and the Africa Finance Corporation, as well as the Acting Vice President of the African Development Bank Group.
President Bio emphasised that WAIIS is being positioned as a leading platform for mobilising private capital and advancing economic integration across West Africa.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between governments, financial institutions and the private sector to unlock investment opportunities and support economic growth in the region.
The President also expressed appreciation to prominent African business leaders Tony Elumelu and Alhaji Aliko Dangote for their continued support towards the summit and its objectives.
As preparations intensify, WAIIS is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to explore investment opportunities, promote regional economic cooperation and mobilise private-sector financing for development across West Africa.
