Entertainer Nasser Ayoub has called on fellow Sierra Leonean entertainers to visit Zainab Sheriff in prison following reports circulating on social media about her alleged illness.
“I am calling on all entertainers to visit Zainab Sheriff. I’m sure she needs it,” Ayoub said.
According to Ayoub, Sheriff needs the support and solidarity of her fellow entertainers, particularly during her current circumstances.
Sheriff is a well-known figure in Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry, with a career spanning more than two decades. She is a musician, filmmaker, and veteran actress.
In recent times, reports alleging that the entertainer is unwell in prison have attracted public attention. Sheriff is currently serving a four-year and two-month prison sentence after being convicted on two charges of incitement and using threatening language.
Ayoub’s call has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some commenters supporting the idea of entertainers visiting Sheriff, while others have opposed it, citing the offences for which she was convicted and sentenced.
