Mrs Kate Krontiris Sengeh, wife of Chief Minister Dr David Moinina Sengeh, has publicly declared her intention to become a card-carrying member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
Mrs Sengeh disclosed this while serving as Special Guest of Honour at the SLPP-North America, New England Chapter Inauguration Ceremony.
Addressing party supporters, she revealed that following her acquisition of Sierra Leonean citizenship, she is now awaiting her SLPP membership card.
“In fact, now that I have my Sierra Leonean citizenship, I’m waiting to get my SLPP Party card,” she said, while directly addressing SLPP Chairman Mohamed Pessima and signalling that she was ready to formally join the governing party.
Her remarks drew an enthusiastic response from members of the SLPP community in North America, with her statement effectively marking her first public indication of plans to take up formal membership of the party.
The development comes as Mrs Sengeh, who has increasingly featured in public and community engagements alongside her husband, moves closer to establishing a formal political identity within the SLPP.
