Miss World Sierra Leone 2026, Mariyam Lorba Konneh, has mourned the death of popular TikTok creator and media personality Glorious Aminata Bangura, widely known as the “Gen Z Reporter.”

Bangura’s death, following a brief illness, has triggered an outpouring of grief across Sierra Leone’s digital and media communities, where she was recognised for her bold personality and engaging content.

Bangura was also part of Konneh’s media team during her preparations for the Miss World competition, contributing to the campaign and supporting Konneh’s journey to the international pageant.

Mourning her passing, Konneh described Bangura as a warm, kind and bold person whose presence made a lasting impact on her Miss World journey.

In a personal tribute, Konneh recalled that Bangura continued to support her campaign even while battling an illness, recording a video for the Miss World campaign just days before her death.

“This loss hurts deeply,” Konneh said. “You were part of my team, part of my Miss World journey. A few days ago, it turned out you were really sick and still doing a video to support me.”

Konneh added that Bangura’s presence would remain a lasting memory, while praying for God to grant her eternal rest and give strength to her family, friends and loved ones.

The Miss World Sierra Leone 2026 titleholder also extended her condolences to Bangura’s family and loved ones as tributes continue to emerge following the death of the rising digital media personality.
