Sierra Leone Female Musicians Union drops a song titled “Have Mercy” to the Government of Sierra Leone, including the First Lady, Dr Fatima Maada Bio, on behalf of its member, Zainab Sheriff.

The Union, which comprises Cordelia, Lyanna, Fantacee Wiz, Whillie Jay, Mackie Scott and others, teams up for the emotional song with a powerful message addressed to the Government, pleading for the release of their sister and member from prison.

Zainab Sheriff, a prominent Sierra Leonean entertainer, model, musician, and political activist, was sentenced to four years and two months after she was convicted on two counts of incitement and threatening language for comments she made at the All People’s Congress (APC) party rally, alleging that President Julius Maada Bio stole the 2023 general elections.

Produced by Korkorchio, the Union and other prominent Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad add their voices to the song, highlighting the rights and limitations of free speech.
