A candlelight procession was held in Freetown on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in memory of Sierra Leonean journalist and media personality Aminata Glorious Bangura, popularly known as the “Gen Z Reporter.”
The procession brought together relatives, friends, colleagues and sympathisers who gathered to pay tribute to the late journalist and celebrate her life and contributions to Sierra Leone’s media and digital communities.
Participants expressed grief over her death and remembered her as a beloved sister whose personality and work touched many people.
The gathering also served as an opportunity for mourners to offer prayers and extend condolences to her family, friends and loved ones during the difficult period.
Bangura’s death has reportedly triggered an outpouring of tributes from members of the journalism, entertainment and digital media communities.
As mourners reflected on her life, prayers were offered for her soul to rest in perfect peace and for God to grant her family the strength and comfort to bear the loss.
The candlelight procession formed part of the continuing tributes in honour of the late “Gen Z Reporter,” whose memory, participants said, would remain with those who knew and worked with her.
