The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) disbursed the second round of annual funding to the country’s five Regional Football Associations on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

According to a press release issued by SLFA, the payment completes the association’s commitment to provide increased financial support to the regions.

The latest payment follows an earlier disbursement made this year. With both tranches included, each Regional FA will receive US$50,000 for the year, up from US$25,000 per tranche.

SLFA said the increase from US$15,000 to US$50,000 annually was approved by the President Babadi Kamara–led Executive Committee. The association said the decision was made to strengthen the capacity of the Regional Football Associations and support football development at the grassroots level.

The association also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that regional football structures receive the necessary support to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable growth and development of football in Sierra Leone.
