Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health has engaged the newly appointed Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, H.E. Saud Al-Musaed, in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and support for the country’s health sector.
The engagement focused on exploring areas of collaboration that could contribute to improving healthcare delivery and advancing Sierra Leone’s health priorities.
During the meeting, Minister of Health Dr. Austin Demby highlighted progress made under the government’s 300 Days of Activism campaign, which seeks to accelerate interventions aimed at improving health outcomes across the country.
The discussions also reaffirmed a shared commitment to supporting Sierra Leone’s Triple Zero targets, which focus on reducing preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths.
The Ministry said stronger cooperation with Saudi Arabia could further support ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services and address critical challenges affecting mothers and children.
Both sides expressed their commitment to deepening collaboration in the health sector and working together to advance Sierra Leone’s efforts to achieve better health outcomes for its population.
