GVWC Announces Temporary Water Shutdown Across Freetown
The Guma Valley Water Company (GVWC) has announced a temporary interruption of water supply across Freetown on Thursday, October 1, 2026, to allow for urgent maintenance and repair works.
According to a notice issued by GVWC management on September 30, the disruption will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., affecting water supply for a period of 12 hours.
The company said its technical teams will carry out repairs on leaks in concrete structures at the Mile 13 Treatment Plant, as well as work on the 18-inch transmission pipeline located at Mile 13 Village.
GVWC management apologised for the temporary inconvenience the disruption may cause residents and businesses, assuring the public that all technical teams will be deployed to complete the repairs and restore normal water supply within the scheduled timeframe.
