Sierra Leonean football legend Kei Kamara has confirmed his participation in Middlesbrough Football Club’s 150th anniversary Legacy Game, scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Riverside Stadium in England.

Kamara shared his excitement about returning to the club and being part of the special celebration, inviting supporters to join the occasion.

“Let’s celebrate Middlesbrough Football Club 150th anniversary together this Sunday, October 4th, at the Riverside Stadium. So happy to be back out here,” Kamara said.

The Legacy Game is part of Middlesbrough’s year-long celebrations marking 150 years of the club’s history. The special fixture will bring together former Middlesbrough players from different generations for a celebratory match at the Riverside Stadium.

More than 30,000 supporters are expected to attend the event, with several notable former Boro stars set to take part, including Juninho, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Yakubu, Christian Karembeu, Geremi, Tuncay and other club favourites. Two teams made up of former Middlesbrough players will face each other in the special fixture.

Kamara is also among the former players returning to celebrate the club’s milestone anniversary. The Sierra Leonean striker spent the 2013–14 season with Middlesbrough, scoring four goals in 25 appearances before leaving the club in 2014.

The Legacy Game is expected to provide an opportunity for former players and supporters to reconnect while celebrating the history and memories created throughout Middlesbrough’s 150-year journey.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 p.m. BST on Sunday at the Riverside Stadium.
