SLFA Trains Match Officials Ahead of New League Season
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has completed a comprehensive capacity-building workshop for Match Commissioners and General Coordinators as preparations intensify for the start of the new domestic league season.
The training program forms a central pillar of the federation’s ongoing campaign to overhaul match-day administration, elevate operational standards, enforce strict regulatory compliance, and ensure seamless delivery across all domestic competitions.
Addressing participants during the official proceedings, SLFA Vice President 1 Alie Badara Tarawallie emphasised the critical duty officials carry as official ambassadors of the national governing body.
“Match Commissioners and General Coordinators serve as the direct representatives of the Football Federation at every venue,” Tarawallie said, charging officials to discharge their duties with uncompromising integrity, neutrality, and professional discipline.

Reinforcing the leadership’s stance on fair play, Tarawallie issued a firm warning against unsportsmanlike behaviour and corrupt practices. He stressed that the administration led by SLFA President Babadi Kamara maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding match manipulation, official misconduct, or any malpractice capable of damaging the credibility of Sierra Leonean football. Officials were urged to remain vigilant, keep accurate match documentation, and enforce rules impartially across all participating clubs.
Finally, the SLFA reaffirmed its broader mandate to raise the standard of football governance across the country, ensuring that every fixture in the upcoming season is conducted under transparent and professional conditions.
