Waterloo to Host Public Dialogue on Redistricting, 2026 Census
The Ministry of Information and Civic Education will convene citizens and stakeholders in Waterloo on October 20 to discuss Sierra Leone’s redistricting process and the 2026 census, two national activities with implications for development and public service delivery.
The civic engagement will take place at the Western Area Rural District Council Hall in Waterloo, according to an announcement from the ministry.
The event will be organised in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government, Statistics Sierra Leone, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The discussions are expected to provide an opportunity for residents and other stakeholders to share their views and raise questions about the two national processes.
The ministry said redistricting and the 2026 census directly affect citizens and play important roles in shaping national development.
Members of the public can submit questions ahead of the engagement through bit.ly/4rZNv98 or by dialling 818 on all mobile networks.
The Waterloo meeting forms part of the ministry’s ongoing Civic Day Series, which seeks to bring national issues into public discussions and provide citizens with an opportunity to contribute to matters affecting the country.
