Forgive Me, Please – Rusticated FBC Law Student Edwina Jamiru Begs for Mercy
Edwina Hawa Jamiru, a law student at Fourah Bay College (FBC), has publicly appealed to the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Alusine Jalloh, for forgiveness and another chance to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Jamiru, who had previously maintained that she had done nothing wrong against the dean, has now issued an emotional apology, pleading with Professor Jalloh to show her compassion and mercy.
In her appeal, she described Professor Jalloh as a good man and urged him to treat her with the understanding and forgiveness a father would extend to his child.
She attributed her earlier statements to the emotional pain she said she had been experiencing and promised not to repeat the conduct.
Jamiru also appealed for time to recover from the trauma she said she had endured, explaining that becoming a lawyer remained a deeply personal ambition linked to a promise she made to her late mother to pursue her education.
Pleading for leniency, she urged Professor Jalloh to temper justice with mercy and give her an opportunity to continue her studies and fulfil her ambition of becoming a legal practitioner.
Her appeal marks a change from her earlier position, as she now seeks forgiveness from the dean and asks for another chance to pursue her legal education.
