High Court Summons APC Publicity Secretary Over Alleged Contempt

An arrest warrant could be issued against Mohamed Pope Kamara, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), if he fails to appear before the High Court of Sierra Leone on Monday, 19 October 2026, over allegations of contempt of court.

Justice Adrian Fisher issued the warning after raising concerns about Kamara’s alleged continued identification and activities in his official party capacity despite a court injunction restricting APC executive members from performing their duties.

The injunction, issued on 27 August 2026, remains in effect while an ongoing case involving the opposition party is being heard.

According to the court, a recent video interview and an article reportedly showed Kamara continuing to identify himself and act as the APC’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, prompting concerns over possible non-compliance with the court order.

Justice Fisher has directed Kamara to appear at Court Hall 1 of the Law Courts Building in Freetown at 10:00 a.m. on Monday to address the allegations and explain why he should not be held in contempt.

“Should the said Mohamed Pope Kamara fail to appear in this court on Monday 19th October 2026, a warrant of arrest would be issued for his arrest,” Justice Fisher warned.

Kamara’s appearance is expected to give him an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised by the court before any further action is considered.
