Parliament Football Team Beats Mansion Base 1–0 in Inter-Ministerial Warm-Up
The Sierra Leone Parliament football team secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Mansion Base Organization in a friendly match played at the National Stadium Practicing Field.
Hon. Ibrahim Barrie emerged as the match-winner, scoring the decisive goal with a strike from the left wing. The decisive finish broke the deadlock in an entertaining, closely contested match, giving the parliamentary squad a morale-boosting victory.
Throughout the encounter, Parliament controlled large portions of play through disciplined tactics and structured passing. In midfield, Opposition Leader Hon. Abdul Kargbo directed the team’s tempo, orchestrating play with key interceptions, precise movement, and accurate distribution. Up front, Opposition Whip Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara mounted persistent pressure on the Mansion Base defense, generating several scoring opportunities and testing the opposition goalkeeper with shots on target.
The friendly forms part of Parliament’s preparation for their upcoming Inter-Ministerial Tournament match against the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA), scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Head Coach Mustapha Hadji and the technical staff noted that these practice matches are essential for sharpening match fitness, refining tactical combinations, and strengthening team cohesion ahead of competitive fixtures.

Following a recent 4–2 victory against the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), this latest win marks back-to-back victories for Parliament as they continue their campaign for the 2026 Inter-Ministerial Trophy.
The Parliament Football Coordinating Team praised the squad’s dedication and called on Members of Parliament and staff to turn out in full support for Tuesday’s high-stakes match against EDSA.
