The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Dr Conrad Sackey, has announced that the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be officially released on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, at noon.

In a statement on Monday, 26 October, Sackey said the results would be announced through the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), urging pupils, parents, guardians and teachers to rely on official communication channels for accurate information.

The announcement comes amid the circulation of false information about the examination results on social media, including posts from accounts allegedly impersonating the minister.

Sackey warned that these accounts did not represent him or the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education. He said major announcements from his office would henceforth be communicated first through video messages in his own voice and subsequently published in writing on his verified social media pages.

The minister cautioned the public against believing purported examination results or release announcements circulating outside official channels, stressing the importance of verifying information before sharing it.

He also warned parents and guardians against paying individuals who claim they can provide examination results before the official announcement, describing such offers as scams.

Addressing candidates, Sackey acknowledged their efforts and said they deserved accurate information about their examination results. He also urged parents, guardians and teachers to remain vigilant against misinformation.

The minister advised the public to consult his verified social media pages, the ministry’s official communication channels and SLBC for reliable updates.

The official announcement is expected at noon on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, according to the minister’s statement.
