Star Sport Academy Target Squad Depth After Opening-Day Draw
Alex Fefegula Harding Star Sport Academy player Senessi Janneh has highlighted the importance of squad depth and continued player development as the club begins its 2026-27 Leone Rock Premier League campaign.
Speaking after the team’s opening fixture, Janneh expressed satisfaction with the players’ performance against Kamboi Eagles, while pointing to the importance of having additional players available to strengthen competition within the squad.
Star Sport Academy opened their league campaign with a 0-0 draw against Kamboi Eagles on Oct. 31 at the Sierra Leone Football Association Playing Turf.
The academy’s official match report said the team created several scoring opportunities but failed to convert them, leaving both sides with a point.
Janneh’s comments suggest that maintaining a competitive squad and providing opportunities for more players remain important considerations for the team as the season progresses.
Star Sport Academy, which recently represented Sierra Leone in the CAF Champions League, will be seeking to turn its performances into victories in the domestic competition.
The club’s fixture schedule lists Mighty Blackpool as its next opponent, with the match scheduled for Nov. 7.
