Team Parliament FC has formally appointed Hon. Racheal Mariatu Sesay Pessima as its Team Manager, presenting her with an official appointment letter and a support jersey at a ceremony held at the Parliament Building in Freetown.

The presentation comes as the team continues its campaign in the 2026 Inter-MDA Football Tournament, where it is seeking to secure the title.

The appointment letter formalises Pessima’s role as Team Manager, while the jersey reflects the team’s confidence in her leadership and commitment to the campaign.

Hon. Pessima has held several positions within Sierra Leone’s sports and football administration. She serves as Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Sport, Board Chairperson of the Sierra Leone Female Premier League Board, President of Bai Bureh Warriors Football Club, and Ambassador for Female Football in the North-West Region.

Her involvement in these roles gives her experience in football development and sports administration, which Team Parliament FC hopes will benefit its campaign.

Speaking after receiving the appointment letter and jersey, Pessima expressed appreciation for the confidence placed in her and pledged her full support to the team.

“I am deeply honoured by this appointment. Team Parliament FC is more than a football team; it is the pride of Parliament. I will give my full support, on and off the pitch, to ensure we lift the trophy,” she said.

She urged the players to maintain discipline, unity and focus throughout the competition. She also assured them of her commitment to supporting their welfare, logistics and motivation.

Players and officials of Team Parliament FC thanked Pessima for her appointment, describing her as a committed sports administrator whose experience and leadership could help strengthen the team.

They expressed confidence that her involvement would provide additional encouragement as they pursue success in the tournament.

Team Parliament FC has already secured seven points and confirmed its qualification for the next stage of the competition.

With its place in the next round secured, the team is looking to build on its progress and maintain its momentum as the tournament continues.

The club has reaffirmed its determination to make Parliament proud, expressing hope that the appointment and support of its new Team Manager will contribute to a successful campaign.
