Councillor Appeals for Gari Processing Machine to Support Farmers in Barri Chiefdom
Alhaji Mashalat Sheriff Councillor Vandi Kamara of Muala has appealed to the Ministry of Agriculture and other humanitarian organisations for gari processing machines to support farmers in Barri Chiefdom, Pujehun District, and improve agricultural production and processing.
Councillor Kamara appealed in response to the need for improved agricultural facilities that would help farmers process cassava into gari more efficiently and reduce the difficulties associated with traditional methods of processing.
He noted that providing gari processing machines would help farmers save time and energy, increase production, improve the quality of gari and create better economic opportunities for farming communities.
Councilor Kamara further called on the Ministry of Agriculture, development partners and humanitarian organisations to consider the request as part of their efforts to support rural farmers, promote agricultural development and improve livelihoods in Barri Chiefdom.
He expressed hope that the relevant authorities and organisations would respond positively to the appeal by providing the necessary machines and technical support to farmers.
The appeal comes amid the need to strengthen local agricultural activities and improve the livelihoods of farming communities in Pujehun District.
