President Bio Joins Women Farmers for Rice Harvest at Masiaka Farm
President Dr. Julius Maada Bio on Saturday, November 7, 2026, joined women farmers at his farm in Masiaka to harvest rice, highlighting the importance of agricultural production and leading by example in efforts to promote food security in Sierra Leone.
The President shared the experience in a statement following the harvest, saying he had worked alongside the women at the farm to bring in the rice crop.
“Today, I helped the women at my Masiaka farm to harvest rice. What a feeling to lead by example to feed the Land that we Love,” President Bio stated.
The activity at Masiaka placed a spotlight on the President’s personal involvement in rice farming and his message on the importance of contributing to national food production.
His participation in the harvest also reflects the role of women in agricultural activities, particularly in rice production, which remains an important part of Sierra Leone’s efforts to strengthen food security and reduce reliance on imported food.
