NCRC Raises Concern Over The Long Queues And Artificial Scarcity of Fuel
Binta Koroma The Native Consortium & Research Center (NCRC) has on a press release issued out today, the 15th November, 2022, raised concerns over the long queues at fuel stations and artificial scarcity of fuel products that has created discomfort for consumers.
This Concerns came soon after news break out about the scarcity of petrol that has resurfaced in some parts of Freetown, creating long queues of vehicles scrambling for the products at filling stations in several locations.
The consortium called on the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) to speedily help solve this imminent panic buying and price speculation that is giving room for black market selling.
“As the nation grapple between between scarcity and price increase the consortium believe there is no need for any price increment.” It added.
The consortium concluded with a call for the resignation of the bank governor because of his poor performance in handling economic issues which has further led to the drastic depreciation of the leones against the forex, a situation that has adversely driven up the fuel pump price.
