More APC Members Defect to SLPP in Kono District
As the June 2023 elections approach, the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has received a large number of defectors from the main opposition, the All People’s Congress Party (APC) making their intent to be members of the SLPP known openly in Kono District, Eastern Region Of Sierra Leone.
These members made this decision on Saturday 4th February 2023 calling themselves the ’LIMBA PAOPA’ group and pledging their support not only for the party but for President Bio and his intention to run for a second term in the June 2023 elections.
According to members of the SLPP, this serves as great news for the Sierra Leone Peoples Party at this time when they needed voters most to have an edge over their counterpart the main opposition APC party.
Many stakeholders and supporters of the party believed that this is a start for a new turn in their party as look forward to more defection soon.
